Postpartum Massage and Closing Ceremonies
Mizan Therapy post birth is extremely beneficial in supporting the woman's postnatal body during the transition from maiden to mother.
It supports the mother to rest and restore, whilst also assisting the internal organs gently back into there optimum position, and supports the alignment and positioning of her hips, pelvis and sacrum area.
Depending on the birth, Mizan can be done before the 6 week check up. If a C-section has taken place then once the scar is closed.
Closing Ceremonies
Closing ceremonies are a way to support a woman's journey after birth and celebrate the miraculous event of conceiving, growing and birthing a baby.
It is a ritual a moment of reflection, peace, contemplation and renewal.
Closing ceremonies don't have to be limited to closing the postnatal period, it can be practiced after baby loss, the end of a breastfeeding journey, divorce, and any life journey that you want to acknowledge.
As a society, we have lost this practice, but it is starting to come back and what a joy and honour it is for me to be able to offer this to women.
I work with a woman to make her ceremony bespoke and personal for her. In this I usually include a womb massage, and then wrapping rebozo scarves around her body to support, honour and celebrate the journey she has been on.
